The atrocities perpetrated by Israel against the Palestinian people are numerous and well-documented. The attacks on Masjid el Aqsa are particularly egregious, as they target a holy site that is revered by Muslims all over the world.

The international community must do more to hold Israel accountable for its actions and to protect the Palestinian people.

Here is a timeline of the atrocities perpetrated by Israel that cost the lives of innocent Palestinians, and the frequent attacks and desecration of Masjid el Aqsa:

1948
• May 14: The Nakba, or Palestinian Catastrophe, begins as Israel declares independence. Zionist militias begin ethnically cleansing Palestinians from their land, killing hundreds of thousands and displacing millions more.
• December 11: The United Nations General Assembly passes Resolution 194, which calls for the return of Palestinian refugees to their homes and the right of self-determination for the Palestinian people. Israel refuses to comply with this resolution.

1967
• June 5-10: The Six-Day War takes place. Israel occupies the West Bank, Gaza Strip, East Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights.

1970
• Black September: Israel launches a campaign of terror against Palestinians in Jordan, killing thousands of people and forcing hundreds of thousands more to flee.

1982
• June 6-September 1: Israel invades Lebanon, killing thousands of people, including many civilians.

1987
• December 9: The First Intifada begins, as Palestinians launch a popular uprising against Israeli occupation.

1991
• October 30: The Madrid Conference is held, with the goal of finding a peaceful solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

1993
• September 13: The Oslo Accords are signed, creating the Palestinian Authority (PA) and establishing a framework for a two-state solution to the conflict.

1995
• November 4: Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin is assassinated by an Israeli extremist.

2000

• August 4: Israeli forces raid the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound, injuring over 150 Palestinians.
• October 9: Israel assassinates a senior Palestinian Islamic Jihad leader in Gaza, sparking a wave of violence.

These are just a few examples of the many atrocities that Israel has perpetrated against the Palestinian people. The Palestinian Center for Human Rights estimates that over 100,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces since 1967.

Attacks on Masjid el Aqsa

Masjid el Aqsa is the third holiest site in Islam. It is located in Jerusalem, which is claimed by both Israelis and Palestinians. In recent years, Israel has increased its attacks on the mosque compound, injuring and killing dozens of Palestinians.

Examples of attacks on Masjid el Aqsa:

• 2017: Israel installs metal detectors at the entrances to the Temple • Mount, sparking a wave of protests and violence.
• 2018: Israeli police storm the mosque compound, firing tear gas and rubber bullets at worshippers.
• 2019: Israeli settlers break into the mosque compound and damage property.

• 2023: Israeli forces raid the mosque compound again, injuring over 150 Palestinians.
