Hamas: Understanding the Palestinian Militant Group and Political Party

Hamas (Arabic: حماس, romanized: Ḥamās, an acronym for حركة المقاومة الإسلامية Ḥarakat al-Muqāwamah al-ʾIslāmiyyah, “Islamic Resistance Movement”) is a Palestinian Sunni-Islamist militant organization and political party.
